Inka Jade Jewellery

What can I say about creative shoots but that I absolutely love them!! Helping creatives bring their visions to life is a passion of mine. I used to do silversmithing as part of my diploma in visual arts that I did many years ago so having this level of understanding of all thats involved for Alisha and her work helps tremendously. We arranged to do the shoot at Arches Estate in Yeppoon because it had the vibe that Alisha tends to display in her work. And didnt the sun and light put on a show for us that day. We had Kiah’s modelling skills which were also what collectively brought it all together.

Immi and Jono

Before Immi was even engaged she was telling me that I was going to be her wedding photographer. I can’t tell you how much it delights me when people are so beautiful and loving of the work I create. When it did happen and we set a date around when I was available she knew I would travel anywhere in the world to do this honour for them. So the Byron Bay hinterland it was. I travelled down with my little family. I love to travel with them as I feel the work I do is about connections and the respect of connections. It shows that I am genuine in my beliefs. When I travel I also try to see people I love along the way and reconnect with people I don’t see often. Having these feelings and vibrations around me photographing a wedding and peoples ultimate connection truly helps me work my best on the day. Immi completely understands these things too and arranged for my husband and child to also stay in the accomodation she arranged for me for the night. The thoughtfulness in herself and Jono was second to none and I suspect why the whole day was just so very special with an absolute magic surrounding all day. It was truly my honour to be there. Part of my job description was to put down my camera and drink and I must have a dance, as per the brides wishes. When this level of inclusion and comfort is brought I can’t help but see everyone for who they are. I can go deeper in capturing what I am seeing because I see so much. Immi and Jono are two very special souls

Shantelle and Gerrit

Shantelle approached me a long time ago to do her wedding photos. She only wanted a small intimate elopement. Together we went driving to find the perfect location and she put all trust in my hands at doing that. When the day arrived it was perfect. It had rained for days before making everything green and trunks on trees nice and dark. Then the glorious sun showed up for their day. We jumped into my troopy car and got invited onto private properties to get some glorious moments captured in the spectacular scenery that Byfield has to offer.

Courtney Maternity

Courtney is a shy girl who was gifted a maternity shoot. As a quite introverted person myself I know not to push people too much out of comfort zones. Courtneys sister Jaz was there to offer a nice comfort, so instead of a posed shoot we mostly just walked around chatting and joking. And I couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out when we have such a relaxed time. We all hung out until the magic sunset which took our words away as we all sat on a grassy hill and watched the light disappear.

Zoey Maternity

Zoey wanted a maternity shoot with a bit of difference. So I was most delighted when I heard those words. Nature. Natural. Mother Nature. Let’s do this!! Honestly I love doing shoots like this ❤️❤️❤️

Red Tailed Black Cockatoo Elopement Styled Shoot

Its important for creative photographers to do personal projects when they can to keep the passion there and also evolve in what they do. I found these Red Tailed Black Cockatoo feathers recently and I instantly envisioned them in a native bouquet. I remembered Delaney had tattoos on her legs of these feathers so I asked her and her partner Will Hearn if they would like to model in a styled shoot for me. They jumped at the opportunity and exclaimed that is how they met, through Delaneys feather tattoos, Wills brother is named Djilinba meaning black cockatoo in aboriginal. Delaney was invited to his naming ceremony and it was from there that they fell for each other. So although this was a styled shoot, it was also how this couple said would be their dream wedding too and has a deep meaning and story. My friend Kara from Mason Bridal Boutique supplied the dress. My beautiful friend Shannon from Shannon Hawkes Artisan Floralssupplied the bouquet and Kylie from Pro Makeup Studio Did make up. The shoot fell on the day of the bushfires, it was the hottest day on earth and the sky was red. It was spectacular and spectacularly HOT. The days leading up I was doing acknowledgement to country in my head and Delaney and Will did just before. The feathers they hold are a male and a female. The huge tree they stand under is 2 trees that have grown together over time. I thought these things as the perfect symbol for Yin Yang and the balance of life. Life, marriage, the earth. Balance is key. For more of this shoot head over to here where it has been blogged https://www.differentweddings.com.au/a-red-tailed-black-co…/
I spent hours and hours editing this shoot. Infusing passion into it so that my 2019 work keeps evolving. I am excited for the year ahead and all of the beautiful weddings I'm so honoured to share a part of. You see, I don't want everyones business, I want to do photography for people that appreciate my style and what it all means to me. I take great pride in all I do and will always take time out to evolve and learn so that you get the very best on your wedding day, because it is everything you deserve.

Lucy and Taylor

Lucy and Taylors wedding was at Rainforest Ranch in Byfield Queensland. There is gorgeous little cabins set amongst the rainforest. It was held in the winter here because Taylors family were coming over from New Zealand and really wouldn’t like the heat of the summer we experience here in this area, hehe. As Lucy’s Dad had recently passed just months before the wedding the day had a very sentimental energy to it. I personally feel that he had something to do with how beautiful the whole day was. Lucy and Taylors dog was part of the bridal party and Lucys beautiful Mum walked her down the aisle.
